These private e-scooters are NOT permitted for use on public roads, footpaths, shared paths or bike lanes in NSW and may only legally be operated on fully enclosed private property. Penalties including fines and device confiscation apply for unlawful public use. Approved rental trial e-scooters operated by licensed providers are governed by separate rules and do not apply to privately purchased units.
